The Plan

As your representative, I will work with other leaders to help our state develop a fiscally balanced reduced budget. The following is a comprehensive overview of some areas that I will focus on while serving you in Lansing:

BUSINESS

Eliminate the Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA) – MCL – Section 408.963.
No government mandates or shutdowns without due process.
Reinstate the Right-to-Work law – PA 348 & 349.

ENERGY

Repeal PA – 233 regarding the overriding of local authorities.
Limit the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) as a utility regulatory advisory board, with five regional appointees (1 from the U.P. and 4 from the L.P.) without overriding local governing agencies.
Limit Solar, Wind, and Data industrial sites per local governing; requiring transparent guidelines and contracts for clean water, low decibels, and alternative power sources.

EDUCATION

Make the State Board of Education (SBE) an advisory, rather than a governing, board. I support HB-5364 to restrict the SBE from unilaterally setting policies.
Develop the state pension defined benefit into an individual 401(K), defined contribution, style or hybrid plan.
No sex education, DEI, or CRT mandates at any level in schools.

HOUSING

Limit property tax increase on sold homes to the Social Security inflation rate, not resale pricing and eliminate the state portion of property taxes.
Cap building code mandates that keep driving up construction costs and creating higher rents and mortgages.
Eliminate disparities in the MHSDA program where developers and small towns have a disadvantage in meeting the funding formula to compete with urban locations and amenities.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

Fully support local, state and federal (ICE included) agencies working together to uphold the constitutional protection of U.S. citizens.
Fully prosecute people that destroy private and federal property and interfere with law enforcement.
No sanctuary cities in Michigan.

FAMILY

Fully support parental rights and choice in their children’s education.
Fully support parental rights and choice in their children’s vaccinations and health choices.
Fully support parents’ rights to have access to all books, curriculum, and staff training in their public school.

ENVIRONMENT

Will not support bills SB 299 & SB 300 mandating septic inspections every 5 years.
Repeal zoning laws that allow solar and wind turbines to take over farmlands.
Re-establish Environment Great Lakes Energy (EGLE) as a limited agency to enforce legislative regulations and work with counties by not overriding their policies.

HEALTH

Reduce the vaccine mandates back to the 1980 level, still allowing for parental choice.
Secure healthcare freedom & choices for employers and employees with no mandates.
Expand the sale of tele-medicine over state lines to help lower prescription drugs for Michigan residents.

ELECTIONS

Require Voter I.D. and U.S. citizenship as qualification to vote and enforce election integrity laws with only paper ballots.
Eliminate the “No Reason” absentee ballot.
Require local and S.O.S. voter rolls to be updated every 2 years within 60 days prior to primary elections.
Support bill HB 5198 to block foreign influence in campaign financing and ballot proposals.

HUNTING AND GUNS

Support bill HB 4855 that allows bow hunters to openly carry a pistol for protection.
Support lowering CPL license fees.
No open field doctrine which allows for warrantless and unreasonable searches.

FARMING / AGRICULTURE

Tax exemptions for Michigan farmers protected.
Roll back EGLE regulations that prevent practical and efficient farming production.
Support bill HB 4233 safeguards prohibiting foreign entities from owning or acquiring agricultural land.
